This resin detail set brings finely cast bulkheads for a model of the British Supermarine Spitfire Mk.IX fighter in 1:48 scale. It is not a stand-alone airplane model but an accessory that replaces the corresponding parts from the base kit and raises the fidelity of the interior. The castings have crisp details that show well in the cockpit.
The Supermarine Spitfire Mk.IX was a British fighter of the Second World War that came about as an answer to more capable enemy machines. Thanks to an engine with a two-stage supercharger it markedly improved its performance at greater altitudes, and it was one of the most successful and most widely built versions of the Spitfire. It served with a number of Allied air forces.
Wash the mold release residue off the parts, carefully separate them from the casting blocks and bond them with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Wear respiratory protection while sanding. Before gluing, do a trial fit so that the bulkheads line up correctly with the fuselage.
This is an add-on set, not a complete model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
