This is not an airplane model but an accessory for a plastic kit. The cast wheels replace the parts of the kit with a finer rendering, and the masks supplied make it easier to paint the tires and the rims cleanly.
The Spitfire Mk.V was one of the most widespread versions of the famous British fighter of the Second World War. It was powered by a Rolls-Royce Merlin engine and served in many theaters. The main landing gear wheels of Spitfires came with several rim patterns, and this is the five-spoke type.
Wash the wheels to remove the mold release agent and cut off the casting blocks, then bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Stick the masking film onto the wheel, paint the tire and the rim separately and peel the mask off. A rendering with the weight of the tire cast in, that is a slight flattening, adds realism to the model.
This is a resin accessory for a kit. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
