Su-22 in Polish service, part 3, gray scheme decals in 1:48 scale are aimed at machines in the later gray finish.
Responsibility details are not available.
A Model Maker decal set in 1:48 scale for a model of the Su-22 combat aircraft with a variable-geometry wing. The name places it as the third part of a series devoted to the Polish service of the type and at the same time defines it by the gray scheme - which matters for the choice, because machines of this type appeared in service in various finishes. The set is an accessory for a finished model, not a kit, and the scope of the sheet does not follow from the name.
From a modeling point of view a gray finish is rewarding and treacherous at once. Large unbroken areas look empty once sprayed and every decal stands out on them, but at the same time the slightest fault shows on them too: film that is not trimmed cleanly, uneven sheen or a legend out of place. So it pays to work slowly and to plan the placement in advance.
Seal the model with a gloss clear varnish and let it cure properly, not merely dry to the touch. Apply the decals in groups and between them look over the surface against the light from a shallow angle - that is exactly how a bubble or silvering shows, which you cannot see from the front. Apply a softener to motifs lying over engraving and covers. Once dry, wash the surface and seal the whole model with an overcoat; only onto that do any washes and weathering belong, so they do not get under the edge of the film.
The set holds decals. The model, the paints, the varnishes and the weathering products are not part of the package, unless stated otherwise.
