About product

Eduard Su-7, 1:48 Scale – Detail Etch Set

This is not an aircraft model, but an accessory photo-etched brass set from Eduard. It is used to add detail to a plastic model of the Soviet fighter-bomber Su-7 in 1:48 scale. The fine metal parts replace or supplement less accurate plastic elements and give the finished model a more realistic look.

The real subject

The Su-7 is a single-seat Soviet jet fighter-bomber from the Cold War era. It was distinguished by a swept wing, a powerful jet engine, and widespread service with a number of allied air forces. This etch set helps capture such aircraft at model scale with greater accuracy.

Use and fitting

The etched parts are carefully removed from the fret, bent precisely according to the enclosed instructions, and glued with cyanoacrylate glue. We recommend tweezers, a sharp knife and a photo-etch bending tool. Once glued, the parts can be sprayed along with the rest of the model. The set is designed for use with the Su-7 kit in 1:48 scale.

Who the set is for

  • Modelers who want to bring their Su-7 to maximum detail
  • Advanced builders used to working with fine metal parts
  • Collectors of Cold War jet aircraft

The set does not include a plastic model, glue or paints – these must be purchased separately.
