An injection-molded plastic kit of the Soviet Sukhoi Su-7BKL fighter-bomber in 1:48 scale from the Smer company. The model comes from a proven Czech tooling and captures the BKL version adapted for operation from unpaved, that is field, airfields. Check the manufacturer's instructions for the particular contents of the package, the armament and the number of marking options.
The Sukhoi Su-7 was a Soviet supersonic fighter-bomber with a fixed swept wing. The BKL version was adapted for operation from unpaved surfaces: the main landing gear was fitted with skids to keep the wheels from sinking into soft ground, rocket boosters were available to shorten the take-off run and braking parachutes to shorten the landing run. The machines served with the Soviet Air Force and with friendly countries including Poland and Czechoslovakia.
Glue the parts with liquid cement for plastic, fill the seams and sand them back. Give attention to the detail of the landing gear with its skids, which is what sets the BKL version apart. Paint the cockpit and the landing gear bays before you close the fuselage up. After the gloss coat and the decals, bring out the panel lines with a wash and add wear to match operation from field airfields.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
