Trumpeter 1:48 Sukhoi Su-15TM Flagon-F — a plastic kit of the Soviet delta-wing interceptor.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the Soviet Sukhoi Su-15TM interceptor in 1:48 scale from Trumpeter. It is a twin-engine delta-wing interceptor (NATO reporting name Flagon-F) designed to react quickly against intruders in the country's airspace. The kit offers a detailed cockpit, landing gear bays, clear canopy glazing and external stores with guided missiles.
The Su-15 was a Soviet Cold War interceptor with a powerful radar and guided air-to-air missiles, operated by the air defense forces. The TM version received an upgraded radar and a modified, lengthened nose (radome); it was built until the middle of the 1970s. Historically the type is linked with the shooting down of a Korean airliner in 1983, when a machine of this kind destroyed a civilian Boeing that had entered Soviet airspace — a tragedy that cost the lives of everyone on board and had a wide international response.
Finish and paint the cockpit and the seat before you close the fuselage — they are hard to reach once it is glued. Pay attention to the front of the fuselage and to the radome, whose shape and length modelers often correct on this kit so that it matches the real aircraft better; check the fit of the nose before you glue it permanently. Protect the glazing with masks and glue it with a canopy cement that does not fog. Use liquid cement on the plastic and spray the large delta wing surfaces with an airbrush over a primer; paint the guided missiles separately and fit them last.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
