A resin set from Aires in 1:48 scale, made to raise the detail of the plastic kit of the early Supermarine Attacker jet. It is not an aircraft model but an accessory. The set brings faithfully cast landing gear bays with inner structure, piping and stiffeners that injection-molded plastic cannot manage as finely.
The Supermarine Attacker was one of the first British carrier-based jet fighters. It appeared in the postwar years and combined jet power with a conventional tailwheel landing gear, which was an unusual feature on a jet.
Wash the resin parts to remove the mold release agent, cut off the casting blocks and bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Protect your airways while sanding. Paint the bays with an airbrush and bring the fine details out with a wash and a dry brush. Test-fit the parts before the wing and the fuselage are closed.
This is an accessory for a kit. The aircraft model itself, glue and paints are not included in the package.
