A supplementary set of resin intended to be carried under a plastic model of a combat airplane in 1:48 scale. The subject of the set is the SUU-7 dispenser, that is a container for scattered submunitions, in the version with extended tubes. The set holds neither an airplane nor its parts; it is exclusively an ordnance accessory.
The SUU-7 is an American dispenser that carried small bombs in an assembly of lengthwise tubes and released them in flight. It was used during the Cold War on tactical combat airplanes, typically in actions against area ground targets. The version with extended tubes differs from the basic one in the length of the front ends and is thus easily recognizable even on a model.
Wash the castings before the build in lukewarm water with dish soap, so that no release layer from the mold is left on the surface, or the paint will not hold. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw or a cutting disc and do not break them. Protect your breathing when sanding resin, as the dust is fine and irritating. The parts are glued with super glue; ordinary cement for polystyrene does not work on resin. Before painting it is advisable to use a primer, which unifies the base and improves adhesion.
This is a supplementary set, not a model in its own right. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
