About product

Hawker Tempest Mk.II/V masking masks 1:48 (Special Mask)

A set of precisely cut self-adhesive masks for masking while spraying. The masks follow the cockpit frames, so the frames come out crisp and even without lengthy patching with tape. The set is prepared for Tempest Mk.II and Mk.V models in 1:48 scale.

The real subject

The Hawker Tempest was a British fighter of the end of the Second World War. The Mk.V version was powered by the Napier Sabre H-24 engine and made its name hunting V-1 flying bombs and attacking ground targets, while the Mk.II carried a Bristol Centaurus radial engine. The Tempest was among the fastest piston-engine fighters of its day at low altitude.

Use and tips

  • Stick the masks onto degreased glazing and press the edges down with a toothpick.
  • Apply the paint with an airbrush in thin layers.
  • Peel the mask off before the finish has cured completely.
  • The cockpit interior can be sprayed separately beforehand.

Who the set is for

  • Modelers of British fighters who want crisp cockpit frames.
  • Builders who are after a clean result without patching by hand.

This is a masking aid, not a paint or a kit. The paints and the model are not included in the package.
