Injection-molded kit of the German Albatros D.II fighter in 1:72 scale from Roden.
Responsibility details are not available.
A kit of the improved German Albatros fighter of the First World War in 1:72 scale. It is an injection-molded plastic model from Roden. The box contains plastic parts on sprues, a decal sheet and assembly instructions.
The Albatros D.II was a single-seat fighter biplane with an inline Mercedes engine and a pair of synchronized machine guns, which followed the D.I type. The main change was lowering the upper wing closer to the fuselage, which markedly improved the pilot's view forward and upward. The D.II earned a reputation as one of the best fighters of its day and served with combat units even after the more modern D.III arrived at the end of 1916. A number of well-known German fighter aces fought on this type and the machine was one of the mainstays of German aviation over the Western Front.
Glue the fine interplane struts with super glue and paint the cockpit and the inline engine before you close up the fuselage. Add the rigging once it is assembled. For the wooden semi-monocoque fuselage use a wood imitation technique, spray the fabric surfaces with an airbrush and apply the decals over a gloss base.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
