An injection-molded plastic kit of the British Panavia Tornado ADV interceptor in 1:48 scale from Hobby Boss. The model has finely engraved panel lines, a detailed tandem cockpit, multi-piece glazing and a variable-geometry wing. The large 1:48 format brings out the long fuselage as well as the external stores.
The Tornado was a joint project of Great Britain, West Germany and Italy. The ADV version (Air Defence Variant), designated F.3 in the Royal Air Force, was a two-seat interceptor with a variable-geometry wing, intended to defend airspace and to destroy targets at long range. The RAF operated it as its main interceptor for a number of years.
Separate the parts with a sharp knife and glue them with liquid cement for plastic. First assemble and paint the tandem cockpit, then close the fuselage; mask the glazing and paint the frames separately. Apply a primer before painting. Assemble the variable wing mechanism and the external pylons carefully. For the typical gray RAF camouflage schemes an airbrush and a wash into the engraved lines are suitable.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
