This photo-etched set from the Czech maker Hauler contains fine brass parts for raising the detail of a plastic model of the American airfield fuel (refueling) truck in 1:48 scale. It is not a model or a kit in its own right but an aftermarket accessory that replaces or adds the small components that cannot be made as finely in plastic. Dimensionally it is based on the Tamiya kit.
Photo-etched parts typically refine items such as brackets, grab handles, clips, screens, straps and other thin sheet-metal details. The result is a more faithful and more three-dimensional surface on the vehicle. The exact contents follow the instructions supplied.
Separate the parts carefully from the fret with a sharp knife on a firm surface, and make the bends with a photo-etch bender or a ruler. Bond with super glue (cyanoacrylate); for a longer open time you can use epoxy. Before painting we recommend degreasing the brass and applying a primer.
The set does not contain the model itself. It calls for the matching plastic kit and assembly materials, which are not included in the package.
