The injection-molded plastic kit HH-65A Dolphin in 1:48 scale from Trumpeter — the rescue helicopter of the US Coast Guard.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the HH-65A Dolphin rescue helicopter of the US Coast Guard in 1:48 scale from Trumpeter. The model offers a faithfully rendered exterior and cabin, a four-blade main rotor and the characteristic tail rotor housed inside the vertical tail. In the package there are plastic parts, a clear sprue and a decal sheet with a selection of machines from various stations.
The HH-65 Dolphin is the American version of the French Dauphin helicopter, adapted for the needs of the United States Coast Guard. It is deployed for rescue at sea, casualty transport, patrol, counter-narcotics operations and for watching over ice fields. The recognition feature of the Dauphin family is the tail rotor built directly into the vertical tail, a fenestron.
Assemble the rotor head with the four-blade main rotor and pay attention to the tail rotor in the tail surface. Paint the detailed cabin and the interior before closing the fuselage; fit the clear glazing only after spraying and mask the frames. Glue the landing gear and the small parts with liquid cement for plastic drop by drop. We recommend a primer and a coat from an airbrush in the bold orange and white of the Coast Guard; sharp color transitions will call for masking, and a fine wash will liven the engraved lines up.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
