Tamiya 1:48 U.S. Tank Destroyer M10 Mid Production is an injection-molded plastic kit of the American tank destroyer of the Second World War with an open turret and a 3-inch gun.

This plastic kit captures the American M10 tank destroyer in its mid-production version. The model builds on a hull derived from the Sherman tank and faithfully reproduces the characteristic open pentagonal turret with its long gun. The box holds decals and instructions with a color scheme.
The M10 was built on the hull of the Sherman and carried a 3-inch (76.2 mm) gun in an open turret, able to pierce thick armor at ranges of thousands of meters. It went into action against the Germans in Tunisia in 1943 and served further in Italy, in western Europe and in the Pacific. The open turret gave a good view but exposed the crew to splinters and to the weather.
Finish the running gear before you close the hull up. Glue the parts with liquid modeling cement for plastic; a primer coat and an airbrush are worth using. The open turret gives room for painting the interior in detail and for adding rounds or equipment. For a realistic look, use washes and dust pigments on the chassis.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
