A pair of replacement Vickers K machine guns in 1:48 scale. The parts are not tied to any particular kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Vickers K was a British flexible aircraft machine gun of 7.7 mm caliber with a distinctive pan magazine above the body of the weapon. It served in the 1930s and 1940s in open gun positions and rear cockpits of British aircraft, where a gunner worked it by hand. Its high rate of fire and simple handling won it favor beyond aircraft use as well.
The package holds two machine guns in 1:48 scale as finished replacement parts. The note in the name about suitability for all kits means that the parts are not worked for one particular kit; they will serve anywhere you want to replace a coarser plastic machine gun with a finer part.
If the parts are not polystyrene, ordinary plastic cement will not bond them. Use cyanoacrylate glue or a two-part epoxy. Cut any excess material away with a sharp blade a little way from the part and sand the remainder down carefully so as not to damage the thin barrel. Wash and degrease the part before painting, otherwise the paint will hold poorly. The manufacturer's instructions give the detailed procedure for this particular part. The weapon looks better in a dark metal shade with fine edge highlighting than in a gloss black.
A pair of machine guns will serve modelers of British aircraft with open gun positions as well as diorama builders who need one more faithful weapon. Two pieces in the package are enough for a twin mount or for two separate positions. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
