1:48 Vought F4U-1A Corsair seatbelts STEEL is a separate photo-etched set of seat belts in steel from the Czech manufacturer Eduard, pre-painted in color, for a Corsair model in 1:48 scale.

It is a narrowly aimed accessory, not a kit nor a complete cockpit set. The contents are only the seat belts of the pilot's seat, etched from steel and printed in color. Steel photo-etched metal holds its shape after bending, so a belt can be left hanging loose over the edge of the seat or lying in the pan. It is precisely such an unstretched belt that makes an open cockpit credible, whereas stiff brass photo-etched metal is apt to spring back flat.
The Vought F4U Corsair was an American carrier fighter with an inverted gull wing and a Pratt & Whitney R-2800 Double Wasp radial engine. On the F4U-1A version the pilot received a higher seat and a modified cockpit canopy with a better view forward, which was a response to trouble when landing on the deck. On this type the cockpit is clearly open to view with the canopy slid back, so detail on the seat pays off on a model.
Working with photo-etched metal. Cut the belts off with a scalpel on a hard surface. Steel is firmer than brass, so bend gradually with tweezers with smooth jaws or in a bending tool. They are glued with a small drop of cyanoacrylate glue, best the gel kind, which gives time to seat them. Do not use aggressive thinners on the color printing. The best result comes from the procedure where you stick the belt down at one point first, let it dry and only then shape its run.
The set holds seat belts only; it is not a model nor a complete cockpit set. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
