A set of masking elements in 1:48 scale for a model of the British Westland Lynx AH-7 helicopter.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Westland Lynx is a British multi-purpose helicopter and the designation AH-7 belongs to its land-based army version. Its cabin glazing is extensive and broken up, so on a model it contributes to the overall impression more than on machines with a small canopy. It is on a cabin like that where masking accurately pays off: straight, crisp frames look right in scale on a finished model, whereas a blurred edge gives brushwork away at first glance.
This is a set of masking elements for a model in 1:48 scale, that is an accessory to a kit. The elements are cut to shape, so measuring and cutting tape is no longer needed. Which areas the set covers and which kit it is drawn for are given in the enclosed instructions from the manufacturer.
The masks belong on clean, degreased glazing, and before spraying, not once the paint has dried. Lift the elements with tweezers and press them down all the way around, above all in the corners, where paint most often bleeds under. Spray in several thin coats, because a thick coat creates a step at the edge that shows once the mask is removed. It is good to go over the frames with the cabin interior color first and only then with the top shade, so that the transition cannot be seen from the cabin. Take the masks off as soon as the paint has set; after standing a long time they come off less easily.
A set of masks is supplied. The kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
