1:48 Westland Wyvern S.4 (early version) ADVANCED kabuki masks, a New Ware masking set in the middle level of extent.
Responsibility details are not available.
A covering set for a model of the British carrier-borne strike aircraft Westland Wyvern S.4 in 1:48 scale, in the ADVANCED form. With this maker that is the middle level of extent: it lies between the narrowest and the widest variant, which are carried separately. The note about the early shape of the machine in the name specifies which production batch the cut is reckoned for.
The Wyvern arose at a time when jet propulsion was only beginning to establish itself, and it represented a dead end of development: a single-seat carrier-borne machine with a turboprop engine and a pair of contra-rotating propellers on a common axis. The combination of extraordinary thrust at low speed and great weight made operations on deck a demanding discipline. The type lasted only a short while in service with the Fleet Air Arm and saw combat during the action at Suez in 1956. It reaches the modeling market rarely, so it makes all the more sense to devote care to the glazing.
The early and the later machines differed in details, so do not mix masks between versions. Clean the glazing before applying them, press the edges down thoroughly and divide the spraying into layers. Lift the paint off at the start of drying so that the edge does not tear.
