XM157 2.75 inch rocket launcher (1:48) is a finely made armament accessory from Metallic Details for models of the Cessna O-2A light observation aircraft. It is not an aircraft model, but an accurate replacement for the underwing rocket launcher.

This set contains finely made resin, or rather 3D-printed, parts of the XM157 launcher for 2.75 inch rockets in 1:48 scale. It is meant for detailing the underwing stores of models of the Cessna O-2A light observation and reconnaissance aircraft. The set is an accessory, not a standalone aircraft kit.
The XM157 launcher was carried under the wings of observation aircraft during the war in Vietnam, which used it to mark targets with smoke rockets. Cast or printed replacements have sharper and truer detail than the plastic parts from the base kit and noticeably raise the realism of the stores.
First wash the parts free of any mold release agent, separate them carefully from the casting blocks and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue. Wear respiratory protection while sanding. Before painting we recommend a primer and an airbrush for even coverage.
The set is an accessory, not a standalone model. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted; glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
