An injection-molded plastic kit of the two-seat trainer version of the early Soviet jet fighter Yak-23 in 1:48 scale from A&A Models. The designation DC refers to the dual-control configuration (dubla comanda) for training pilots. It is supplied as a short-run kit on sprues.
The Yak-23 was one of the first Soviet jet fighters of the postwar generation, with a straight wing and a simple structure. The two-seat trainer conversion with dual controls served to convert pilots to jets. The machine also saw service with other armies of the Eastern Bloc.
With a short-run tooling, count on cleaning up the parts, possibly sanding the mold edges and a little filling. Finish the cockpit and the interior before closing the fuselage. The metal surfaces of an early jet come out best with metallic shades and light polishing.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
