This product is not an airplane model but a small resin detail accessory in 1:48 scale from the Quickboost brand (Aires). It holds finely cast air intake covers of the kind fitted to a parked aircraft to protect the engine. Without the base aircraft kit you cannot use it.
The Yakovlev Yak-38, with the NATO reporting name Forger, was a carrier-based aircraft with vertical take-off and landing. The air intake covers are a characteristic piece of equipment on a parked machine, and a fine casting raises the fidelity of a model standing on a deck or an apron.
Carefully separate the parts from the casting blocks with a sharp knife, clean up the cuts and sand them. Wash the mold release agent off the castings before gluing. Bond them with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue); protect your airways when sanding resin. Apply a primer before painting and lay the paint down in thin coats.
The accessory is supplied unpainted and requires the base aircraft kit, which is not included in the package.
