This resin accessory of the Quickboost brand brings precisely cast antennas for a model of the Soviet carrier-based VTOL fighter Yakovlev Yak-38 Forger in 1:48 scale. It is not a kit but a small replacement part that takes the place of the thicker and easily damaged plastic antennas from the box with finer and more faithful castings.

What the part is for

The Yak-38 was a vertical take-off and landing fighter of the Soviet Navy, operated from the Kiev-class cruisers. On the fuselage and the fin it carried a number of antennas, which are small but conspicuous features on a model and are easily damaged in thin plastic. Fine resin castings have faithful proportions and stand up better to a close look.

Usage tips

First wash the resin parts in lukewarm water with a drop of detergent to remove any mold release residue. Carefully separate the small antennas from the casting block with a sharp knife and clean them up with respiratory protection. Bond them with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue) and work with tweezers; fit them at the end of the build so that they do not snap off while the model is handled.
