An accessory for models in 1:32 scale: an ammunition belt with 7.92x57 mm rounds.
Responsibility details are not available.
The designation 7.92x57 describes the cartridge: the first figure is the caliber, that is 7.92 mm, and the second the length of the case in millimeters. It was a widespread rifle cartridge with which Germany loaded not only infantry weapons but aircraft machine guns as well. An ammunition belt of such rounds is therefore to be seen in the ammunition boxes of aircraft, at machine gun positions and in crates beside a weapon.
An ammunition belt is a small thing, yet it gives the scale away. In injection-molded plastic it tends to be suggested as a flat strip with the rounds merely indicated, because a finer shape will not come out of a mold. A separate accessory, by contrast, is three-dimensional and the individual rounds on it have a real shape. In 1:32 scale that is doubly worth it: the model is large, an open ammunition box or a machine gun position is clearly visible and a flat strip would be conspicuous at that size.
The parts are not polystyrene, so they are glued with cyanoacrylate glue or epoxy; cement for plastic models does not hold on them. Cut the excess material away with a sharp blade a short distance from the part and sand the remainder carefully so that you do not damage the shape of the rounds. Wash and degrease the parts before painting and apply a base. A metallic shade then comes out after a dark wash, which draws into the recesses between the rounds. The particular procedure follows the manufacturer's instructions.
The accessory will be appreciated by modelers building a large model with exposed armament, and by makers of dioramas and display cases. A model, paints, glue and tools are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
