About product

The real subject

The Silvia S13 is a Japanese sports coupe from the end of the 1980s. It was created as a two-door car with the engine at the front and rear-wheel drive, with smooth sides, a softly rounded body and a low nose. It was precisely the layout of the drivetrain and the balanced construction that made it a popular basis for sporting modifications, so a number of cars have survived with different wheels, body additions and finishes. The letter Q in the name refers to one of the equipment levels offered in the S13 range, while the suffix Gussan Edition distinguishes a particular form within the range of kits.

The model in 1:24 scale

This is a plastic kit of a passenger car in 1:24 scale. The finished car comes out at roughly nineteen centimeters in length, which is the most common size for collectors' car models and is comfortable to work with when finishing the interior as well. The list of parts, the contents of the decal sheet and the range of color forms are given in the manufacturer's instructions.

Building and painting tips

On a car model the finish decides. Wash and degrease the body first, sand small irregularities down and apply the color in thin coats so that the creases and the gaps are not flooded. Fit the glazing and the bright parts onto a finished coat and glue them carefully; ordinary cement for polystyrene would attack them. Finish the interior, the chassis and the engine bay before you join the body to the floor, after which you can no longer reach them.
