Fujimi 1:700 Battleship Kongo treats a Japanese fast battleship and, according to the name, contains etched elements as well.
Responsibility details are not available.
The model captures the fast battleship Kongo, the lead unit of her class. The Japanese maker offers her in the usual ship format and, according to the name, encloses etched elements for the finest parts of the equipment with the plastic.
The Kongo was the last large surface unit that Japan had built abroad. She came about in a British yard before the First World War and in the interwar period went through an extensive rebuild, after which the original battlecruiser became a fast vessel able to keep pace with carrier forces. In the Second World War she served intensively and perished in November 1944 after a torpedo attack by an American submarine.
Assemble the characteristic pagoda superstructure gradually and keep checking that it is vertical, because an error grows larger higher up. Leave the barrels of the gun turrets movable until the painting is finished. Set the deck areas off with masking tape and treat them in a different shade from the sides of the hull. Add the fine aerials with stretched fishing line; they look truer than plastic castings.
It is an unpainted set to be assembled, which the modeler glues and sprays with his own materials.
