MASTER 1:72 German Bordkanone 5 cm Cannon (Mk 214 / 5 cm BK) with Resin Muzzle is a detail accessory with a turned metal barrel for a large-caliber aircraft cannon. It is not an aircraft model, but a replacement barrel for the Me-262 A-1a/U4 and Me 410 A-1/U4 kits in 1:72 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set from MASTER is not a kit or an aircraft model — it is a detail accessory that replaces the plastic barrel of a large-caliber aircraft cannon. It combines a turned metal barrel part with a resin muzzle, so the result has sharp edges, a precisely round cross-section and an actually bored barrel — something that is practically impossible to achieve with a long, thin plastic part.
The Bordkanone 5 cm, also known as the Mk 214 or 5 cm BK, was a German aircraft cannon of 50 mm caliber from the end of the Second World War. It was developed as an anti-bomber weapon: a single hit from its heavy shell was meant to knock a four-engine aircraft out of formation without the fighter having to fly into the defensive fire. The weapon was tested, among other places, in the nose of the jet-powered Messerschmitt Me-262 A-1a/U4 and the heavy fighter Me 410 A-1/U4. Because of its length, the barrel jutted out noticeably from the nose on both aircraft, which is what most defines a model's characteristic silhouette.
For builders of German aircraft who want an accurate, straight and mechanically sturdy barrel for the cannon-armed version of the Me 262 or Me 410. Installation is not demanding, but it calls for a little care when drilling and working with resin.
This is an accessory, not a model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package. Protect your airways when sanding the resin.
