A decal set in 1:72 scale devoted to the Hawker Hurricanes flown by Czechoslovak pilots in RAF squadrons. The third part of the line.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Hawker Hurricane was a British single-engined fighter of the Second World War and was among the types flown by Czechoslovak pilots in RAF squadrons. It was a rugged machine with mixed construction of the airframe. The set is the third part of a line devoted precisely to their machines, so it follows on from the two earlier ones and brings a further selection of schemes.
Decals in 1:72 scale for a model of the Hurricane. How many variants of schemes the sheet offers and which particular machines they relate to are given in the instructions enclosed by the manufacturer; the placement of the individual decals on the model follows them as well. The decals are printed on a transparent carrier film and are held on a common backing paper, from which they slide onto the model once soaked.
These are classic wet decals. First clear-coat the area where they go with a gloss finish; on a matte surface air bubbles would settle under the decal. Cut the decal out together with its backing, soak it for a few seconds in lukewarm water and let it rest until it begins to move freely on the paper. Then slide it into place, line it up and draw the surplus water off with the edge of a paper towel. On a broken surface a softener helps; once it has been applied, do not touch the decal until it has dried. Finally clear-coat the area, so that the edges of the decals disappear.
The set will please anyone who builds aircraft connected with Czechoslovak pilots in the RAF. The model, the paints and the clear coat are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
