The Grumman A-6E Intruder is an American carrier-borne attack aircraft for use in all weather. The pilot and the navigator sit side by side under a common canopy, the wing is straight and its tips fold for parking on the deck of a carrier. The designation TRAM belongs to the sensor turret under the nose, with an infrared camera and a laser, thanks to which the aircraft found and hit a target at night as well.

In 1:72 the difference between plastic and photo-etched metal shows even more than in larger scales: edges, grilles and small loops measure a fraction of a millimeter at this scale, and they do not come out of a mold that thin. Which parts the fret carries, where they are fitted and which A-6E kit the set is designed for are given in the manufacturer's instructions; the order of work follows them as well.
At this scale, work over a light surface and with fine tweezers; the parts really are tiny. Cut the tab with a sharp blade; do not tear it. Make the bends along the etched score line and draw them home with a straight edge. Dose the glue with the tip of a wire; one drop of super glue is enough for several parts. Before painting, degrease the metal and lay down a primer meant for metal, otherwise even a light touch of a finger will rub the shade off. Try the fit of the parts dry and, if need be, sand the plastic under them.
