Detail Set 1:24 for the BMW M3 E30 Gr.A, Inter TEC 1990 Class Winner

A supplementary detail set in 1:24 scale from Nunu Models, made up of photo-etched metal parts. It is a refining set for the kit of the same car, that is the BMW M3 E30 in Group A specification in the configuration of the class winner of the Inter TEC race in 1990. The set holds neither a bodyshell nor a chassis and no model can be built from it on its own; it is used to replace some of the plastic parts of the base kit where plastic would look too coarse.

Use

• The set belongs with the base kit of the same car in 1:24 scale, which has to be obtained separately; check compatibility with any other model in advance.
• Photo-etched parts are separated from the fret with a cutter on a hard surface rather than by twisting, otherwise they stretch at the joint.
• Bend them in a bending bar or between two edges rather than with your fingers, so that the edge stays sharp and straight.
• They are glued with cyanoacrylate applied in the smallest amount; cement for plastic does not hold on metal.
• Degrease the metal before painting and use a primer intended for smooth surfaces, otherwise the paint will flake off during handling.
• Parts that are to stay bare, radiator mesh for instance, often do without paint altogether or are merely darkened with a wash.

Who the set is for

For modelers who are building the corresponding M3 E30 circuit model and want to take its level beyond what a plastic molding can manage, that is where the thinness of the material and the sharpness of the edges matter. Working with photo-etch calls for patience, tweezers and a steady hand; we do not recommend it to a beginner as a first step.

The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
