The four-color variant of the lozenge for interior surfaces 1:72, very faded from Old Propeller. Printed covering in a muted coloring for places out of direct light.
Responsibility details are not available.
This sheet offers the pattern of the printed covering in the variant of four shades and in a much lightened rendering. It suits where the cloth is seen from the inside or where direct light does not fall on it, so that a rich print would come across as unnatural. The difference from the five-color form lies in the number of shades and in the overall tuning of the pattern.
The factory printing of the camouflage pattern saved a great deal of work and paint in the last years of the war: the covering came from the factory already finished and the machine was covered straight away. The four-color version tends to be associated above all with the lower surfaces, but the particular use differed by the maker of the airframe and by the production batch. You will come across it with types such as the Albatros D.Va, the Pfalz D.IIIa or later monoplane designs.
Work panel by panel and trace each one onto paper beforehand, so that the cut-out piece seats exactly. The base has to be smooth and glossy, otherwise matte patches will appear in the polygons. Align the pattern by the most prominent line on the surface and let the joints fall into the shadow of a rib or a stiffener. Finally secure everything with a semi-matte coat, which unifies the print with its surroundings.
The box consists of the sheet alone. You will not find a model, varnishes or rib tapes in it.
