These are laser-cut kabuki tape masks from the Czech maker New Ware. The basic grade concentrates on the essentials: the glazing and the wheels. The cut follows the Airfix kit; on a model from another maker the set need not fit.
The Westland Lysander was a British high-wing aircraft with fixed landing gear, originally intended for cooperation with ground units and for observation. It became famous for something quite different, though: thanks to its ability to take off and land on a very short strip it carried agents at night to small fields in occupied Europe and flew them out again. Machines for those flights were given an auxiliary tank and a ladder on the side of the fuselage. The Mk.III version differed from the Mk.I in its powerplant and in details of equipment.
The cockpit glazing on this type is unusually broken up and it carries a great many frames. Cutting tape by hand for the small facets takes longer than the whole rest of the build, so ready-made shapes save a whole evening. The wheel discs are usually included too, and on fixed landing gear they are masked practically every time.
The tape is pliable, it can be stretched into a gentle curve and its adhesive does not damage the surface. Press it down with a blunt tool so that no air pocket is left underneath, and spray in thin coats.
