About product

Diorama Texture No. 7 - Grey Gravel

A ready-made texture paste from VMS (Vantage Modelling Solutions) for creating a realistic gray gravel surface on dioramas, bases and tracks. The paste holds a fine gravel grit in a neutral gray shade that faithfully imitates stone tracks, embankments and hard standings. It is not a paint and not a kit, but a scenic material.

Use

  • Lay the paste onto the base with a spatula or a brush and work up a gravel surface.
  • For a firm hold, bed it in and flood it with modeling PVA glue (white glue).
  • The natural shade looks realistic; if needed it can be overpainted with acrylics, a wash and pigments.
  • Tools and fresh residue wash off with water while the paste has not dried.

Who it is for

  • Builders of dioramas with stone tracks and embankments
  • Modelers making realistic terrain and bases
  • Anyone who wants to create a gravel surface quickly

This is a scenic texture material, not an opaque paint. Store it closed and out of reach of children.

FAQ

For creating a realistic gray gravel surface on the tracks, embankments and surfaces of dioramas.

You do not - it has a natural gray shade. If needed it can be overpainted and brought out with a wash.

Bedding it in and flooding it with modeling PVA glue (white glue) is what works.
