Resin landing flaps for the light transport de Havilland DH 104 Dove in 1:72 scale turn the plain straight wing from the kit into mechanization opened for landing.
Responsibility details are not available.
The resin accessory replaces the section of the wing with the flaps by their extended form. On a small twin-engine aircraft it is a modification that is noticed at once: the silhouette changes and the model stops coming across as static.
The DH 104 Dove was the first postwar novelty of its manufacturer and the answer to the demand for a replacement for prewar biplanes. It offered retractable nose landing gear, all-metal construction and a cabin for roughly eight passengers. Gipsy Queen inline engines provided the power. The military equivalent served with the Royal Air Force and the Royal Navy as a liaison and staff aircraft, and the machines sold all over the world in numbers of over five hundred.
Thin castings call for careful separation from the sprue; the surest way is a fine-toothed saw and support under the part. After washing and drying, try the dry fit and sand down any overhang. Apply super glue in a small quantity, so that it does not run onto visible surfaces. Then spray the primer thinly, as otherwise the fine edges of the casting will be lost. The joint can be strengthened with a short pin of thin wire glued into the wing.
The package contains only the resin parts of the wing.
