A color base for a model with German herringbone paving, the period from the 1930s to the 1960s, 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
Paving laid in a herringbone pattern was one of the typical surfaces of German streets and yards from the 1930s to the 1960s. The blocks were set at an angle against one another, which produced a bond that stood up better to wheel traffic and did not spread sideways. For a model that means a very distinctive pattern: the angled rows break in a regular rhythm and the eye picks them out at once, even though the blocks themselves are tiny.
A model standing on a bare table has neither scale nor surroundings. A color base gives it both in a moment and without building a diorama. It suits vehicles, figures and aircraft models in 1:48 scale, as a background for photographing finished work and as a permanent surface in a display case. A great advantage is that it can be swapped for a different setting at any time without changing anything on the model.
The base alone is supplied. The model, figures, glue and a frame are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise. Check the dimensions and finish of the base against the manufacturer's data before you buy.
