Ricoh Skyline GTS-R (R31) is a kit of the circuit car of the NISMO works team from the 1988 season of the Japanese touring car championship, 1:24 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
Ninety-seven parts, a white body and offset-printed decals: Hasegawa offers the race car with number twenty-three as it looked in the colors of its main partner. The finished model measures roughly twenty centimeters and belongs to a wider line of Japanese circuit sedans from the same brand.
The Skyline GTS-R came about as a homologation series for Group A, and the seventh generation of the line brought back turbocharged six-cylinder engines with DOHC valve gear. In the 1988 season Aguri Suzuki and Anders Olofsson won the two opening rounds of the Japanese championship with it, before the incoming generation of all-wheel-drive cars took over. The austerely shaped sedan is therefore regarded as the last great success of rear-wheel-drive cars in this class.
Offset print stands up to warm water and to ordinary decal softeners, but the decals have a tougher carrier layer. Let them soak longer, therefore, and lay them on a perfectly glossy base, otherwise a silvery veil will appear under the edges. The inside of a race car tends to be austere, and a dark gray with a hint of a roll cage is enough. On a white body the panel lines stand out best when they are picked out only very lightly.
Paints, putty and glue are outside the contents of the box.
