Philippe Kieffer commanded the French commandos who during the Second World War served within British Commando units as part of the Free French Forces. They went through British training, wore British equipment and took part in the Normandy landings. Figures from this unit therefore combine French allegiance on a diorama with the equipment a modeler knows from British subjects.
The figure in 1:48 scale is captured in a marching stance, that is in a step forward. The number in the name distinguishes the individual versions within the line; the figures are sold one at a time, so you can put together a column in exactly the number and the arrangement your scene needs. How many parts the figure is made up of and how they fit together are given in the instructions enclosed by the manufacturer.
Cut the excess material off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the remnant down lightly, so that the folds of the clothing and the webbing stay visible. Wash and degrease the figure before painting. With marching figures it pays to set several pieces side by side while they are still unpainted and check whether the steps match one another and the column keeps its rhythm. Paint the face and the hands before you set the figure into the scene. Choose the glue according to the material and follow the manufacturer's instructions.
It suits dioramas of the fighting in Western Europe, the display case of a collector of painted figures and also an addition to a model of equipment that lacks a human measure. Combined with the other numbers of the line it makes a marching column. The package holds the figure; paints, glue and a base are not included, unless stated otherwise.
