1:144 Portuguese Air Force Insignia (2 sheets) is a sheet with Portuguese aviation national insignia for models in a small scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
Decals with Portuguese national insignia in 1:144 from the maker Mark I. The name states that these are two sheets. The set serves to mark models of aircraft of the Portuguese Air Force and does not replace a kit or paints.
A national insignia establishes the nationality of an aircraft, and its shape differs with every country in form, coloring and placement on the airframe. Portugal uses its own cross, which over the decades appeared in several sizes according to the type and dimensions of the machine. Models in 1:144 tend to be supplied with generic markings and specific European operators are as a rule not found in the box, so a separate sheet has its justification. It also suits when you want to convert a finished model to a different operator.
Decals age. Over time paper absorbs moisture and the adhesive layer loses its effect; with older sheets the film then tears when soaked. Before you reach for a sheet you have had put away for a longer while, spray it with a thin layer of clear varnish and let it dry; the varnish will stiffen the film and hold it together. Keep the sheet flat, dry and out of reach of the sun.
