Oval masking shapes 3 x 3.8 mm to 4.8 x 5.6 mm graded in steps of 0.2 mm from the SX-Art brand. A sheet of self-adhesive shapes for covering oval elements while spraying.
Responsibility details are not available.
The sheet brings a series of ovals that grow in both axes at once: the smallest measures 3 x 3.8 mm, the largest 4.8 x 5.6 mm, and two tenths of a millimeter are added between neighboring shapes. The aspect ratio changes only a little across the whole series, so you simply pick the shape by the area that needs covering.
A range of around four to five millimeters corresponds, in 1:35 scale, to headlight covers, oval vision ports, the step openings on the hull or fuel tank caps. In larger scales the same shapes fit rear-view mirrors, oval inspection hatches and cooling air intakes.
Lift the oval with the tip of a scalpel, pick it up with flat tweezers and lay it in the middle of the area. Then run a wooden toothpick around the edges, so that they do not lift anywhere. When you need to transfer several pieces at a given spacing, stick them onto a strip of crepe paper masking tape first and put them on the model all at once.
A coarser division covers the given range with a smaller number of sizes. It is worth it wherever a difference of two tenths of a millimeter is imperceptible on the finished surface and what decides is rather the speed with which you find the right shape.
