Elongated ovals of a constant width of 3 mm and a length of 4.2 to 6 mm, divided in steps of 0.2 mm from SX-Art. Cut self-adhesive shapes for masking narrow elongated elements.
Responsibility details are not available.
What is special about this sheet is what does not change: the width stays at three millimeters on all the shapes, while the length grows from 4.2 mm to 6 mm, always by two tenths. The oval therefore stretches gradually from a ratio of roughly seven to ten up to a full one to two.
That is exactly why this set differs from the ovals that grow in both axes. You reach for it where the element being covered is narrow and long in itself: the side windows of cabs, slit vision ports, elongated ventilation openings or elongated covers on an engine compartment. The deciding criterion is the aspect ratio, not the size.
With elongated shapes the axis is lined up first. Offer the oval up by one end, check that it lies on the axis of the element, and only then press it down along its whole length. Running a rubber tip from the middle out to the ends forces the air out and stops paint from creeping under the edge.
On elongated elements an error of length shows far sooner than on round ones. When you have ten lengths at hand, you offer two neighboring ones up to the part and pick the one that ends exactly on the edge. An elongated shape is never bent over a sharp edge of a part: a stretched film tears away from the edge once the paint dries and the border bleeds. The remaining shapes stay on the sheet for the next build.
