A set of cut masking stencils for a model of the E-2C Hawkeye carrier-borne early warning aircraft in 1:72 scale. It is not a kit but an accessory for the build. The cut is made for the kit of the Hasegawa brand.
The Hawkeye is an early warning aircraft intended for operation from aircraft carriers. Above the fuselage it carries a rotating dish-shaped antenna housing, which serves to search for air targets, and four vertical tail surfaces, which the aircraft needs because of the limited height of a hangar. It is powered by two turboprop engines. Of all carrier-borne aircraft it has one of the most conspicuous shapes there is, precisely because of the dish above the fuselage.
Stick the masks onto a clean, degreased and dry surface and press the edge down with a blunt point. The cockpit has many small windows, so work out in advance which mask goes where, as the shapes are similar to one another. Spray thin coats. Fit the dish-shaped antenna housing only after the fuselage has been varnished, otherwise you cannot reach the surface beneath it. Take the mask off shortly after it has dried and pull it at an angle across the surface.
The masks are supplied on their own; the paints and the model are not included in the package.
