The figure represents a French soldier, and the number in the name distinguishes the individual items inside the line of French infantry. The line is built so that the figures can be combined into a group: each one has a different stance and a different activity, so side by side they do not look like one figure repeated several times. The name does not state the role, the armament or the period the soldier belongs to, and so you choose the setting according to the equipment and the stance of the finished figure.
The package contains one figure of a French soldier in 1:35 scale. A standing adult figure corresponds to roughly five centimeters in this scale, so the figure fits in size with models of military equipment and with buildings of the same scale. How many parts it consists of and how the individual parts are fitted is stated in the instructions enclosed by the manufacturer.
Cut the excess material off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the remnant down carefully, so that the engraving of the folds of the clothing and of the equipment is preserved. Wash and degrease the figure before painting, as paint does not hold on a greasy surface. Paint the face and the hands before you set the figure into the scene; the small items of equipment are easier to paint separately and to fit at the very end. Choose the kind of glue according to the material of the figure and the particular procedure according to the manufacturer's instructions.
The figure is for modelers who are putting a group of infantry together next to a model of a vehicle, or who are building a diorama and need one more figure in it. It comes in on its own in a display case as well, as an exercise in painting a uniform. Paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
