1:16 Ukrainian Soldier 08 brings another member of the Ukrainian Omega unit in a resin casting. The figure stands in a different stance from the other numbers of the same line.

Number eight captures a member of the special forces in a stance which differs from its siblings in the line both in the handling of the weapon and in the turn of the torso. It is one figure cast from resin in the 1:16 size, that is in a format where a figure reaches around eleven centimeters and carries detail that small scales do not allow.
The sculptor went for present-day gear: a modular plate carrier with pouches, a helmet with side rails, joint pads, gloves and tactical goggles. On a figure this large a story can be told through the material, because synthetic straps have a different gloss from a rubber sole and the leather of the gloves a different texture from the cover of the vest. Telling these surfaces apart is a more interesting task than the camouflage pattern itself.
Look the resin over against the light before the build and fill any bubbles with putty or with a drop of super glue. Cyanoacrylate is at the same time the only reliable binder here, because solvent glues for polystyrene will not join this material. Do the sanding wet and with protection of the airways; dust from resin does not belong in the lungs.
The casting is supplied with no paints, no glue and no base; the assembly and the painting are up to the modeler.
