The Miura of 1966 to 1973 ranks among the icons of Italian car design and its cast wheels with a central nut are one of the most conspicuous features of the car. It is precisely the wheels that tend to be simplified in kits: the edges are soft, the space behind them shallow and the nut merges with the face of the rim. A more accurate casting therefore lifts the whole model visually more than most other improvements, because the wheel is the first thing the eye falls on with a low sports car. The production rims were also cast from light alloy and carried a fine texture that an injection mold does not capture well at this scale.
Before painting, wash off the mold release residue and check dry whether the rims fit your tires; the diameter and the depth differ between individual kits. The smooth glossy surface stands out after spraying with a filler primer and polishing the base, and the nut and the small details can then be brought out with a dark wash. Cyanoacrylate glue is suitable for joining to the tire and the hub. When setting them in place, watch that all four wheels stand in one plane; with such a low car even a slight tilt shows immediately.
