A set of templates for spraying German crosses onto a large-format model of the Bf 109 F, that is of the celebrated Friedrich.

The F version meant an aerodynamic revision of the Messerschmitt from the tip to the tail. Rounded wing tips replaced the square tips of the Emil, the struts under the horizontal tail surface disappeared, the engine cowling got a cleaner shape and the offensive cannons moved out of the wing into the propeller axis. It was on the Friedrich that German pilots achieved their best results over North Africa and over the Eastern Front, and many of them called it the most pleasant flying machine of the whole family.
The package takes care of the German crosses for the fuselage and for the surfaces of the wing. The advantage of spraying lies in the fact that the paint follows the relief of the surface, so a marking passes across rivets and across a raised panel transition without the crease a decal would create. The result can also be unified with weathering and clear coat without worry, because there is no carrier foil underneath it.
How to go about it: lay the template on perfectly cured camouflage, press it down with a soft tool all the way round and spray perpendicularly, so that paint does not get under the edge. Choose the order of the coats from the lighter tone to the darker one.
The scope of the delivery: count on the fact that the model itself, the paints and the tactical numbers are sold separately.
Where you will meet the Friedrich: over the Libyan desert, over Malta and in the first months of the campaign in the east. Different battlefields meant very different camouflage schemes, from sand tones to winter white, and each time the marking was laid onto a different base. A template has no problem with that, because it works with a finished surface and does not depend on how dark the paint beneath it is.
Storage: leave the templates on their carrier sheet until you need them and keep them dry and out of direct light.
