The plastic sprues alone for the kit of the MiG-21SMT fighter in 1:48 scale from the Eduard OVERTREES line. The package is intended for modelers who already have the kit and the decals and want to build another machine.
Responsibility details are not available.
The MiG-21SMT belongs to the late versions of the Soviet single-engine supersonic fighter with a delta wing and a nose intake with a movable shock cone. It is told apart from the older versions at a glance: the fuselage spine behind the cockpit received a markedly taller and bulkier cover, into which a further supply of fuel fitted. The enlarged spine made the flying qualities worse, however, and so the following version slimmed it down again. That is exactly why the SMT is the most conspicuously shaped member of the whole family.
OVERTREES is the line designation for a package in which you will find only the plastic sprues from the kit, and nothing else. There are no decals, photo-etched parts, masks or instructions in it. It assumes that you know the corresponding kit and want to build another example from the same mold, whether because you have a decal sheet left over or because you are embarking on modifications and do not want to open a complete box for them.
Without enclosed instructions the build relies on the documentation for the corresponding kit, so have it ready before you reach for the first part. Cut the parts off a little away from the gate, sand the remainder carefully and wash and degrease the surface before painting. The metallic shades of Soviet machines forgive little, so the joints have to be perfectly smooth.
The package will be appreciated by modelers who build MiGs in a larger series or who have their own stock of decals. The contents are plastic sprues only; decals, photo-etched parts, masks, instructions, paints and glue are not part of it, unless stated otherwise.
