External stores change the look of a model more than most small details. Empty pylons make a finished machine look poor, whereas bombs and rocket pods under the wing give the model an immediately obvious purpose and at the same time give away the task the machine was sent on. This item brings exactly such parts for MiG-21 models in 1:48 scale: stores matching the armament this type carried.
This is the OVERTREES build, that is the plastic sprues alone without anything else. There are no decals, photo-etched parts, masks or instructions in the package. It assumes that you will fit the parts onto a model under construction according to documentation you already have, or according to photographs of the real machine.
Check the exact arrangement of the stores against photographs of a particular machine, because the combination differed with the task and the operator. Cut the parts off a little away from the gate and sand the remainder, and with the thin fins of the rocket pods proceed carefully. Wash and degrease the plastic before painting. It pays to paint and accent the armament before it goes under the wing, where a brush will reach it less easily.
The set will be appreciated by modelers who are building a MiG-21 in a fully armed version or who want to add to their stock of stores for models under construction. The contents are plastic sprues only; the model, decals, instructions, paints and glue are not part of it, unless stated otherwise.
