Pre-cut masking templates of kabuki paper tape for a model of the B-26F Marauder bomber in 1:48 scale, in the form designated EXPERT.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Martin B-26 Marauder is an American twin-engine medium bomber of the Second World War. It was conceived as a machine that was above all to be fast, and it therefore got a slim wing of small area; it flew excellently, but it forgave little on takeoff and landing and crews had to get used to it. The B-26F version belongs to the late forms, on which the angle of incidence of the wing was increased precisely so that the machine would behave more calmly at the edge of the envelope. The glazed nose and the long cockpit give a model a great many frames to spray.
The masks are cut from kabuki paper tape. That conforms well to the curve of a part, holds well enough for paint not to run under it, and can still be taken off without bringing the base with it. The form is listed in the product name as EXPERT, which is the designation of the extent of the set within the manufacturer's range.
Apply the mask before spraying, onto a clean and degreased part. Press the edge down along its whole length with a blunt point and apply the paint in several thin coats; one heavy coat will draw itself under the edge and the boundary will be blurred. Take the mask off as soon as the paint is dry to the touch, and pull it back over itself. Tape that is to sit on a curve is better not stretched by force; it serves better if you lay it on in sections.
For builders of American bombers in 1:48 scale. The model, paints and glue are not included in the box, unless stated otherwise.
