A bucket in 1:35 scale, an accessory for military and civilian vehicle models and for dioramas. It belongs to the small things nobody notices until they are missing.

What an accessory like this is good for

A bucket is found around vehicles wherever work is being done: it carries water to top up the radiator, sand for a slippery surface, oil during maintenance and paint during a repaint. Crews carried them hung on a fender or on a hook at the rear, and in the workshop or in camp one stood put down by a road wheel. In a scene it therefore explains what is going on and gives the model its scale. A real bucket about thirty centimeters tall works out at just under a centimeter in 1:35 scale, so this really is a tiny part.

Building and painting tips

• Cut the excess material away with a sharp blade a little clear of the part and sand the remainder gently.
• Wash and degrease the part before painting; on a small surface every greasy mark shows.
• Choose the glue according to the material of the part; the exact procedure is given by the manufacturer in the instructions.
• Suggest galvanized sheet with a light gray base and a thin wash, not with silver paint.
• Add rust only on the edges, the bottom and the worn places; nobody would use a bucket rusted through.
• If you want to fill the bucket, clear resin works for water and a pigment for sand.
