A finished collector's model of the Nissan Silvia S15 in the drift form of the D-MAX Racing stable with race number 70, in the form from the 2023 season of the D1 Grand Prix series. It is not a kit; the model is supplied assembled and painted.

The real subject

The Silvia S15 is the last generation of the Japanese Silvia sports coupe. An engine at the front, rear-wheel drive and a short wheelbase made it one of the most popular bases for drifting, because a car like that can be held in a slide for a long time and steered on the throttle. That is exactly why the S15 appears in Japanese drift competitions long after the end of series production.

The racing form

The D1 Grand Prix is a Japanese drift series in which it is not the time achieved that is judged but the angle of the slide, the speed and the line through the course, both in a solo run and in pairs. The model carries the colors and the markings of the car of the D-MAX Racing stable from the 2023 season, including race number 70, so it suits a collection of Japanese racing cars as well as models of ordinary road cars of the same scale.

Placement and care

In 1:64 the car comes out at roughly seven centimeters, so it fits a display case and a free shelf among books. Take dust off the model with a soft brush, not with a rag, which could scratch the thin markings. In direct sunlight the paint and the printing gradually fade, so a display case away from a window is better.

The model is supplied finished; paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
