Phillips screws with a cross slot in the 1.5 mm size are an add-on set for models of vehicles. They replace a molded head with a part with a real slot, which is fitted into a drilled hole.

An add-on set of small imitations of fasteners for models of military and civilian vehicles. It is not a kit and it is not a model. The parts are fitted onto a build already in progress wherever the subject uses a screw with a cross slot and the production plastic part offers at most a shallow ring.
In the larger scales an inadequate molded detail is most visible. A cross slot has to be shallow and drafted so that the molding can be released from the mold, so once a primer is sprayed on it practically merges into the head. Add to that a parting line and the sanding of seams, which levels the detail with the surrounding surface. A fitted part has a slot deep enough for a wash to draw it as a dark cross even under several coats of paint.
Cut the original head off flat with a scalpel and sand the surface over with fine abrasive paper. Prick the center of the future hole with a point, drill the hole with a micro drill in a hand holder and choose the diameter by the shank of the part. Make the hole rather shallower, so that the head seats over its whole surface. Set the part in with tweezers and secure it with the slightest drop of cyanoacrylate glue from the tip of a wire. Excess glue will flood the slot and the swap will lose its point.
Choose the size according to the scale of the model, not according to how well you want to see the detail. In this range the designation 1.5 mm is among the larger sizes and matches a scale of about 1:35. Hold the size up to the place the part is to go and compare it with the neighboring details on the model.
